You make it sound like it's not allowed [anymore] :)
Yes, we go out to lunch every day. There are times here in which I do stay to catch up, but not too often. Depends. Two of my team are co-located in my office so we get to walk and grab lunch each day. There is a kitchenette in the office that we can bring lunch back to, sit, eat, and talk.

I try to go out for lunch at least once a week. If I do eat at my desk, I do not work except on rare occasions. At one time I had to put a sign up at my desk because people would constantly interrupt my lunch.
Co-workers have now learned that my lunch to be considerate of my lunchtime.
When the weather is nice, I also take "non-smoking" smoke breaks just to clear my head and get a breath of fresh air.

Love it Dinah, a sign. Perhaps "If you see me eating, it means go away!" :-)

It depends on what my schedule for the day is. If I have a lot of meetings I will eat at my desk and work through lunch to catch up on my projects and prepare for the next meeting.
I try to make it a point to have lunch and socialize with my co-workers away from the office to get refreshed.
Given that my productivity dips late in the day, when at the office I prefer to have a working lunch to be able to head out a little early. I also find that's a good time to get caught up on administrative stuff like processing e-mail.
If I'm working from home, then I definitely step away from my computer as I usually make my lunch and I will avoid bringing my laptop with me into the kitchen!

Nice to beat the traffic Kiron if you can get out early.
I eat at my desk almost all the time. People know that no matter how busy I am, I can be found at my desk at lunchtime, either via chat, phone, or in person.

Always eat at my desk though I would suggest a can of pressurized air to get all those crumbs out!

Larry, do you use dry ice spray, with the thin extended nozzle? That always works well.

It was so annoying for awhile. I used to eat and read a book. My lunch is always at the same time. My one boss seemed to wait until noon every day to come over and ask a question. She would always state that she did not want to disturb me, but here is my question anyway. I tried to sit in an empty conference room, but then people would see me (glass door) and poke their head in and ask what I was doing in there.
When I started studying for the PMP, I put the sign up. If it is lunchtime and you see me studying, do not disturb. It worked.
