We have all been there. I find it hard to get away from my computer so I would say I eat while working a lot of the time.

I don't take lunch, so I have time available to catch up on my e-mails.

I'm surprised to hear so many of the community does not take a lunch break. Please know the importance of keeping your body properly fueled, the benefits of the mental break, fresh air, human interaction, and just moving in general.

I want the best for everyone's health. Take care of yourself.

Normally I eat at my desk, and after lunch I go for a short walk to get some fresh air. Anyway depending on my schedule I may go out for lunch with my colleagues, once in a while.

Sante,

I like to lunch with team members, on location or outside. It build the relationship. At my desk when required by some deliverable.

Love it Dinah, a sign. Perhaps "If you see me eating, it means go away!" :-)
It was so annoying for awhile. I used to eat and read a book. My lunch is always at the same time. My one boss seemed to wait until noon every day to come over and ask a question. She would always state that she did not want to disturb me, but here is my question anyway. I tried to sit in an empty conference room, but then people would see me (glass door) and poke their head in and ask what I was doing in there.
When I started studying for the PMP, I put the sign up. If it is lunchtime and you see me studying, do not disturb. It worked.

Here's another way to look at this. I've generally worked as a contractor and in the summer time I enjoy getting out of work as early as I can to enjoy what little summer we have in NE Ohio. So, I often combine my lunch and continuing my work effort over lunch so I can enjoy the fresh air and sunshine an hour earlier in the afternoon.

Sante,

Following my recovery from a health issue I had last year, I decided to stop eating lunch while working. I take a break, go out, enjoy the sunshine (even if it's for a short walk around the block).

I step out everyday. Sometimes it is to grab a lunch out, others it is to grab something and bring back to my desk. Stepping away from my work can provide clarity if I am having difficulty and I find it refreshes my mind and give me a boost of energy in the middle of the day.
