Hello, I have six years of PM experience and will prepare to take the new PMP exam this year. Which classes have been particularly useful to you? Simplilearn? Any suggestions are appreciated. I am in Des Moines, IA so if anyone is taking the exam as well, it would be nice to form a study group. Thanks a lot!

Try Courses from Praizion.com by Phill C Akinwale or Udemy course from Joseph Philips.
Both of the courses are good...

I back other feedback. Udemy PMP Exam Prep course by Joseph Phillips is very helpful AND you can earn 35 PDUs when you take this course.

Below is the link to his course for current/sixth edition PMBOK:

As you can only claim PDUs that you earned after you are certified, I think any PMP Prep training provider promoting their course with PDUs is misleading.

Different from PDUs, you need 35 contact hours for the exam application.

Some people might prefer a honest provider.

I use Storm Wind Studios, and I absolutely love Ashley Hunt and her teaching. It is all online and you can see everyone in your class. I am currently taking it, hoping to wrap up in the next week or so.

I did mine through SimplyLearn, but looking back I should have just done a cheap online course, as most of the learning for the exam came from Rita's book.

Thomas is right in that many students fraudulently use PMP training for BOTH contact hours AND PDUs AFTER the exam. This is very wrong! Against the code of ethics.

To Joseph's defense it reads: Earn 35 PDUs/Contact Hours by completing the entire course. Which means existing PMPs can take the course as a refresher and get PDUs. Newbies should only get contact hours and should not double-dip.

Joseph Philip's course on Udemy is one good option. He is an R.E.P. and also the course will give you the necessary 35 contact hours required.

On another note, please note that the new PMP exam will be in effect on January 02, 2021 and there are no specific material for that exam, there are only recommended resources of which one of them is the PMBOK. The courses you find online are aligned with the current version of the exam as well.

If you can, I highly recommend you do the current version of the PMP exam.

Good Luck.

I found that Joseph Phillips course was useful during my preparation to take the PMP exam. He goes through every topic in detail, the contents might be a challenging at first to fully understand the concept, but once you have gone through a couple time things will begin to unfold.
