Sometimes I look forward to going to bed at night because I know that when I wake up, I get coffee.
Waking up sucks, but waking up for COFFEE! Not so bad, people who wake earlier are generally happier with their lives than their night owl counterparts.
Pair that with the aroma of coffee to start your day, and you've got yourself on the right foot.
I do wake up early, and do prefer rising before the Sun, but my reasons are mundane.
I prefer to leave for work early and beat the rush hour; and once I reach the office, I have about 90 minutes or so to straighten and plan my day out before the meetings start.
I also try to get some exercise in - and actually succeed in doing so twice a week or so.

My reasons are more aligned with those of Karan’s. I love to wake up early but can’t beat the coffee King Riyadh.

I wake up early because overlap of work hours with European clients is limited to early morning hours in my timezone. If it's light outside, I have no problem jumping out of bed, even without coffee, but I have to admit, it's tough when I have to wake up before the sun. I do it anyway when needed and take a nap later if necessary!

Ellen, yeah I see your point that time difference, I do also deal sometimes with stakeholders from Malaysia or China then we have to stay late at night it's totally the opposite.

Yes. i get up early in the morning. Commute early, and the traffic is much lighter, and you get to work faster, and thus save yourself more time .I reach office early and review the plan for meetings and other daily activities.
