Some of us feel we could do our boss or manager's job better than them. How about you?

Frankly, yes

in some tasks we are more expert in some tasks NOT all . we are knowledgeable but our knowledge is limited that will not allow us to answer all unexpected questions, in other hand, if we haven’t set in front of our desk and serve in the internet gathering much of information related to our field, will never become expert, and answering any unexpected questions.

No. I have fortunate I suppose to have great managers of whom have much to offer in shared experiences, mentorship, and leadership. I value strong relationships and partnerships with my managers.

Sante -

I've had over a dozen managers to date who have run the gamut from Patrick Bateman-wannabes to those who I'd have followed to the gates of Hades (and beyond).

Whenever I feel the urge to express negative views about my current manager, I'll revert to Matthew 7:5...

Well in some places were I’ve worked, yes, I did feel that but currently I am glad I have a great boss who is very knowledgeable and I enjoy taking his advise.

Sante, I sometimes have this sort of feelings at my work place. But never thought to put myself in the role of Brutus. Always tried to give upper hand my boss although my contribution was significant to complete my task.

For most of my career the answer is 'yes'. I have had a few happy exceptions, though.
I expect a manager to give their subordinates what they need to do their jobs, and to work for the good of the organization. These expectations seem basic to me, but a lot of managers I've known don't do them.

Oftentimes a manager doesn't need to be more knowledgeable, but they generally should be more competent at managing people and particularly the core tasks that their department are responsible for. Unfortunately many get stuck with a manager who is neither knowledgeable or good at managing people and tasks. That can be really frustrating.

At my previous job, absolutely better than my customer's PM (my contractual boss). At my current job possibly not. It's one of the reasons I switched jobs.

There have been a few. There have been several that I ended up doing most of their jobs. It can be frustrating.

I had some really good managers and full of knowledge and I learned a lot of them and I will strive to follow their steps in management. However, the worst would be when you get an uneducated manager and hater, definitely, I want to be better than him.
