I am currently in the 7th week of an 11 week class on PMI Test prep. Meanwhile I would like to prepare my information for filling out the application to take the test. I am looking for any advice that will help me use the correct verbiage and information to describe my PM experience. Thanks. Saving Changes...
Having taken the PMP exam recently, I would say not to stress out about the application. I did not put in a lot of verbiage about my experience - just very high level descriptions (i.e. "Managed PeopleSoft HR/Payroll implementation for a large retail company") etc. I think the main thing is to make sure your hours of experience in each of the categories and the contact information is as complete and accurate as possible in case your application is audited.
I would recommend focusing your time and energy on preparing for the exam itself - it is fairly challenging. I passed on my first try, but the studying I did definitely paid off - even if you are an experienced PM, there are certain areas of the exam where you just have to know what they are looking for and be able to answer in the expected way, even if it is different from what your common sense or past experience tells you.
