I need help with a project to export a product that we manufacture

I work for a company that has embarked on a new venture namely exporting coveralls. The director of the company has gone ahead and started this without putting in a project to assist with the implementation of this new venture. What I can see so far is that the company is hemorrhaging a huge amount of money (the money will be made back from the exports in the long term). How can I with the use of a project help with the proper implementation of this new venture?
A Brief outline. We manufacture uniforms, for various industries for brands such as Unilever SA; these uniforms are put into service on a three year cycle. The new venture is to export (we already have a market for the product) coveralls as I direct purchase.
How do I go about preparing a project for the directors to show that there are different ways to go about implementing this new venture in a streamlined process.
I have started studying “Introduction to Project Management Principles and Practices” online through the University of California, Irvine (Coursera) to help the company I work for.
