Some people, who is project manger, almost his experience is in construction or on the field if he has a good character with lack of standard or knowledge of project management. Some PM doesn't respect his team to keep his power, and doesn't know the PM ethical and habits, and some PM doesn't know the record management system some PM doesn't know the conflict mangement...etc. Can any engineer like planning engineer or cost engineer or QS engineer with has qualified and certified in project management and risk management to be PM if he has like these requirements?

Some people should never be a PM.

You can have the PM skill set, but do you have the ability to lead a team leveraging your PM skill set. That is the question you need to ask yourself. Project Management is about planning and working with people. You need to love to wok with people. Be respectful and get respect.

I agree with you, one of the most important things involved with PM is working with people and above all, communication, you have to love challenges and dealing with lots of different points of view, of course, not all the people have that in their veins

typically as human being we are having different behave and attitude in dealing with others some of us want to be as a mangers, and other want to work as leaders involving to their project daily work, as you have mentioned each manger has his attitude and behavior, experience is part of our daily knowledge as project, missing part of knowledge for sure will reflect to quality of work, so that's way Influence methods expected by project team members and choosing a leadership model for project success. for sure if anyone educated to the level of understanding and ability to be an excellent leader will be as successful PM.

You can be at the right time and right position to grab the opportunity but if you do not skill and qualify yourself, you will crash. Knowledge of PM is essential (systematic approach) but also communication and working with people and stakeholders will be the other side of the challenge.

Agree with Drake and Sante.
Also there could be a situation where PM doesn't know 1 or 2 aspects but evolves as the experience increases.

Not everyone can do any job, and just because they can, like Kiron states, doesn't mean they should; then there is the Peter Principle.
