I completed a Diploma of Project Management a couple of years ago. I am currently working as a Software Developer, but I also manage software and IT projects for special projects. I am currently project manager for a large software rollout, and I am gaining lots of experience. I have advised my manager I am interested in project management and he has given me this project to manage. I would prefer to be an IT project manager full-time. How can I make the transition from software development to project management? Is gaining on the job experience the key, or more qualifications?
Thanks
