Does anyone feel the pace of technology driven change is too fast already and its accelerating?

I just saw a report about how fast technology is changing business. What was more troubling was at the end they said the pace was picking up. Is it even possible to keep up?

Kevin I agree with you. New businesses are being created at a much more rapid pace today. The piece you just posted about the 3D printer actually printing electronic circuits directly on the skin of people is a prime example. A business that does that to overcome nerve damage could not have existed until that technology created that ability and clearly the 'value'. Mr Conte must have such a high level definition of what a business is nearly anything would be considered additive.
I am floored nearly every day with all the new technologies and changes they bring about. I am not sure anyone can really keep up with all of this unless it is the ONLY thing they do.

I just read and re-read the 3D Skin Printing circuitry post and linked article. This is amazing! Kevin - HOW do you keep up with all of this and continue to post these hot breakthroughs for all the PM to become aware of what is in the pipeline? BTW, I sat beside my coworker that took your Emerging technology webinar and that was equally amazing. Thank You
I could not believe the 3D printing breakthrough when I read it at first. I actually called around and checked and a few people had heard about it before the article was printed. We really live in interesting times!

Emerging technologies are transforming business. They are creating new businesses and business models and obsoleting old existing ones. There was a great line in a movie with Danny Devito called Other People's Money. In it he talks about the 'prayer for the dead' and 'buggy whips' and that is what emerging technology is all about. Check out the YouTube 5 minute clip. Youtube.com/watch?v=62kxPyNZF3Q
I love that clip. I have used the lines in that video in a couple of strategic planning events. Thanks for bring that up!
