The problem is people do not understand what Agile is and how Agile was born. Agile was born in 1990 inside the USA DoD NSF/Agility Forum (NSF means National Science Foundation so perhaps it helps to understan the importance of the initiative). Agile was born with basement in quality and fully focused on today buzzwords but they exists from long time ago like innovation, agility, and others. So, sorry if I did not understand your question, I am answering becuase I think is interesting, but Agile is about that. Saving Changes...

Sergio, I think that probably you don't understand the question, sorry about that. But agile practices like Scrum, XP, BDD, TDD, Kanban and others is much more that it. And in an agile transformation context that we are seeing around the world, it's important to understand how collaborate with quality in maintenance and innovate the product at the same time.
Maybe, my problem was not talk more specif about the software industry, where that make sense. Sorry!

I understood your question but perhaps my answer was not well formulated. I tried to say this: Agile is not specific to software, Agile is not related to use a method, Agile did not start with the Manifesto. Agile was born to be used at enteprise level in 1990 (I was part). So, Agile is nothing related to software only. But most of the people do not know that. I am leading my seventh initiative to implement Agile at the level where it was born: enteprise level. Because of that an special division was created in my actual work place: Transformation and Innovation Division where I belon as Program Manager for LATAM initiatives. Agile is about to transformation. What to transform? The whole enteprise architecture. Agile was born with basement on quality and innovation. Is impossbile to think that Agile is not about to put innovation in place. When you implement Agile you gain into agility which is the ability to innovate and to create changes into the environment. Quality and innovation shouldn't be mutually exclusive. If anything, by involving quality SMEs in the teams exploring new product features and directions you will get a better solution.
