In the systems development traditions of the past, most people adhered to the concept that development should be done in discrete phases. These were typically sequential: analysis, design, implementation, and testing, often referred to as "the waterfall". Agile processes reject this notion almost entirely, and so one question that often arises is: if there is no design "phase", when does design happen? Is there a role for design in an agile process? This webinar will address this question and introduce the concept of an "emergent" design process. This will be an overview, with no technical knowledge or experience required.

Scaling Agile has been a hot topic in the last 3 to 5 years. Organizations that have successful software deliveries are trying to spread the success of the Scrum Team(s) beyond technology departments. On the other hand, laggards, teams and organizations that didn't embrace Agile when it became clear that it is the future, are cutting corners and launching mammoth programs to "do" Agile. Scrum, the core of the most recent "scaled" frameworks, was designed for teams of less than 10 people developing software products. Even at that size, it is "difficult to master", according to its authors. This webinar takes a look at Agile scaling from both perspectives: agile software development created for small homogenous teams AND agile manufacturing conceived in the last century for large companies as a replacement to Lean. The webinar is based on the author's 30+ years’ of experience as a practitioner. From manufacturing to software development and then to projects, this webinar is an analysis of the famous mindset change and the challenges and lessons learned while doing it and helping others to do it.

Analysis skills are crucial to the success of any agile effort. For the team to deliver value to the organization the requirements given to them must be evaluated critically to ensure they are understood, that there is no missing information, and that the work of the team will be in completely alignment with organizational priorities. This webinar will teach a very powerful tool for accomplishing this analysis. A real-world example will be used to illustrate this way of working.

Using waterfall, agile, and change management techniques, this webinar will cover the configuration points in designing an Enterprise Project Management system to allow data integration across existing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Project Managers will be able to better understand whether their projects are within agreed thresholds and how to better manage compensation events.

Citizen developers are employees with little or no IT skills who create online applications and mobile apps using approved point-and-click app builder tools. According to Gartner's (an IT consulting firm) research, by 2025, over 70% of organizations will use citizen-developed applications. According to Mendix's (another IT consulting firm) 2021 survey of 2,025 IT professionals in six countries, in organizations that use no-code/low-code platforms, 56% of employees use citizen-developed apps. Thirty-three percent of organizations surveyed use citizen-developed apps for mission-critical operations. In addition, No-code/low-code projects reduce software application costs by 53% while delivering the applications 56% faster than traditional software projects.| Many citizen developers are skilled in business analysis, marketing, or business strategy. They have excellent critical thinking skills and analytical skills. However, citizen developers can be more effective if they acquire design thinking, agile project management, and product development/management, collaboration, customer education, and stakeholder management skills. My presentation will describe how to build a capabilities academy focused on essential knowledge, skills, and attitudes to help citizen developers create and deliver valuable no-code/low-code digital applications.

This template is designed to show projected budget costs for project human resources (a consulting team, for example) and provide a comparative analysis of actual money spent on those resources and hours used to date by those resources. It can be easily updated as desired (weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc.). The tool provides an immediate illustration of the state of the project at any point along the project life cycle by showing whether the money and hours utilized to date are above, at or below the projected budget amount.

"This planet has - or rather had - a problem, which was this: most of the people living on it were unhappy for pretty much of the time. Many solutions were suggested for this problem, but most of these were largely concerned with the movements of small green pieces of paper, which is odd because on the whole it wasn't the small green pieces of paper that were unhappy."
