Activity

A component of work performed during the course of a project. Can be a Stage (group of steps), Step (group of tasks), or Task (individual activity). An activity is essentially "something you do on a project". Often has an expected set of resource requirements, duration, and cost. Typically produces a defined output, making it a task that everyone understands is worth performing. Define an activity as being made up of 8 hours of work or less. Anything over 8 hours would be part of a work package that would be between 9-80 hours of work.
