Boilerplate is standard terminology (often sections of a proposal, deliverable, or contract) that is reusable many times and is unlikely to change. Positives include saving the effort of having to 're-invent the wheel' and avoiding error. Negatives include not fully understanding what you've created, and if text looks like it's boilerplate, it tends to be skipped over and not read or understood thoroughly.
