The Product Owner is an important member of the Scrum Team. They are responsible for maximizing the value of the product produced by the Development Team.

The Product Owner is solely responsible for managing the Product Backlog, although they may give permission to members of the Development Team to edit the Product Backlog.

The Product Owner's primary duties include:

  1. Clearly defining each Product Backlog item
  2. Ordering the Product Backlog items to maximize value
  3. Optimizing the value of the Development Team's work
  4. Ensure the Product Backlog is transparent, highly visible and current
