It is about using existing knowledge within the organization to achieve the project’s objectives and then using new knowledge gained on the project to contribute to the organization”s body of knowledge. The process must include tools that allow converting data into information, and information into knowledge. The knowledge nowadays can be in written, digital media, videos, audios, images. ---- Key points in PMBOK 6th 2018 - Knowledge is split into "explicit" and "tacit," and knowledge management is concerned with managing both - Explicit knowledge lacks context - Difficulty in codifying contextual knowledge in "tacit knowledge" - The best knowledge management tools and techniques will not work if people are not motivated to share
