The PMI Global Summit in Los Angeles was my second time participating after Atlanta last year, and also my second trip to the United States as an adult. I was overwhelmed by the huge distance and the jet lag due to the direct flight of 12 hours and the nine-hour time difference from France. But I was keen to meet the community as soon as possible!

The PMI Global Summit lasted from Thursday to Saturday lunch time, although I started on Wednesday afternoon with the volunteer session. It’s better to arrive one day before the event if you likely have jet lag. I prefer to book a hotel close to the conference center whenever possible because the days are intensive and there might be after-work meetings.

Along the way, there were keynote speakers and breakout rooms. There were also many exhibitors (companies and universities) from which you could learn more about tools and diplomas.

It was F.A.B.!

I’m an active PMI volunteer and in contact with many people on LinkedIn. Going to a Global Summit is a great way to meet volunteers and project leaders I’m in contact with throughout the year. I also met a colleague from Mauritius that I wouldn’t otherwise have had the opportunity to meet! The event has its own app, and I used this to network and contact people.
