In celebration of International Women’s Day, PMI hosted a webinar, “Insights From Women Leaders: Journeys to Success in Project Management,” featuring distinguished women leaders in project management. Moderated by Rupal Bhandari and Tessa Constantine from the PMI® Thought Leadership team, the session brought together Melissa Reeder, vice president of consulting at CGI (United States), and Heba Bilal Al Shehhi, head of the project management office at Dubai Municipality (UAE).

The discussion explored their career trajectories, leadership moments and the role of mentorship in overcoming workplace challenges. The panelists discussed the importance of organizational support in advancing women’s careers, including access to professional development and structured career pathways.

The session highlighted encouraging data on women’s progress in project management. While UN Women reports that women globally earn 23% less than men, the project management field shows more promising trends; the project profession across many countries has a significantly smaller gender pay gap.
