The April 2025 webinar “Leading Project Management with GenAI: Quick Wins to Innovation” explored how project professionals are integrating generative AI (GenAI) into their workflows—from simple early wins to more transformative applications. Moderated by Ian Summers (PMI), the session featured insights from Rupal Bhandari (PMI), Andrew Rosado Hartline (project manager, Innovative-e, Inc., USA) and Alonso Aguilar (industrial engineer, Kyndryl, Costa Rica), and drew questions from a live global audience of project professionals.

Data Privacy and Security Concerns

1. Project documentation often includes private or confidential information. How do you leverage the abilities of GenAI while keeping information protected?

Answer: Avoid using public GenAI tools to process sensitive information. Panelists emphasized that internal-use or self-hosted AI platforms are ideal for secure data handling. When those aren’t available, professionals should focus on nonsensitive use cases: generating templates, formatting content or exploring project scenarios with dummy data.
