As generative AI technologies such as ChatGPT become increasingly integrated into project management practices, organizations must proactively address the ethical implications. Developing a robust ethical framework requires aligning AI use with organizational values, regulatory obligations, and standards of fairness.

Key pillars of such a framework include governance, training, and data management. Governance provides structure and accountability; training provides the knowledge for employees to use GenAI responsibly; and data management establishes safeguards for privacy, consent, and data integrity.

Moving from ethical intent to practical implementation requires organizations to translate these principles into clear policies, tools, and roles that integrate ethical AI into daily workflows. As GenAI becomes embedded in project environments, the ability to adhere to ethical practices will determine if the benefits are realized without compromising organizational and project integrity.

The following sections provide a practical roadmap to operationalize the components of a framework.
