Inspiration to Impact: Lam Thu Nguyen’s Rising Leader Finalist Journey at Global Summit
Attending the PMI Global Summit for the first time was an unforgettable experience for Lam Thu Nguyen. Being there as a Rising Leader finalist made it even more meaningful.
Walking into a space filled with thousands of passionate project professionals from around the world, Lam Thu was immediately struck by the scale, energy, and sense of connection that defines the global PMI community. “The Summit gave me a very clear feeling that this is not just an event. It is a community I want to stay connected with and a community I hope to contribute to in the future.”
Redefining Leadership Through Authenticity
Hearing global leaders speak openly about setbacks and lessons learned reinforced the idea that authenticity matters more than perfection. Leadership, she said, becomes stronger when leaders allow themselves to be human when they show up with courage, intention, and a willingness to grow.
“Through the sessions I joined, especially ‘Radical Candor’ and ‘The Art of Possibility: Creativity as a Project Leadership Skill,’ I realized that leadership is not something that we perfect from the first attempt. It is a journey where we try, learn, fail, adjust, and grow. Hearing global leaders speaking honestly about their own setbacks made me feel that authenticity matters more than perfection.”
