When PMI Educational Foundation’s Director of Social Impact, Ashley Forsyth, first met Erina Wanzul at the STEM Racing World Finals at Silverstone, Erina was a high school student from Malaysia—and the first student Ashley had ever met with “Project Manager” embroidered on her shirt through the PMIEF partnership with STEM Racing (formerly known as F1 in Schools.) Erina had picked up a project management handbook through STEM Racing and ran with it: Gantt charts, risk registers, stakeholder maps. She used them to lead her team to back-to-back Malaysian National Championships and recognition from two Formula 1 teams.

Fast forward three years, and across the globe, Amber Mylrea is the project manager for her UK team, learning the same skill set in a different leadership capacity. She came to project management through engineering as her entry point into STEM Racing.
