Following the webinar “From Learning to Practice: Applying the CPMAI Methodology on Real-world AI Projects,” PMIxAI Ambassadors Yahiro Takegami and Jung Soo Kim share how they apply the CPMAI methodology in their everyday work—and what they have learned along the way.

I view CPMAI not as a methodology for adopting AI, but as a methodology for realizing business value. Having worked on AI initiatives for many years, I found that the CPMAI methodology provided a framework that helped me articulate and organize concerns I had long struggled to define. How do we keep AI work connected to outcomes, data, stakeholders, and measurable improvement? 

What motivated you to pursue the PMI-CPMAI certification, and what problem or opportunity were you hoping it would help you address in your work? 

In 2016, we established an AI Center of Excellence (AI CoE) with a major e-commerce client. Between then and 2023, we worked to expand AI use cases across a wide range of business functions to support the client’s business objectives.
