Enterprise Agility in the Age of AI

The relationship between artificial intelligence and enterprise agility is mutually reinforcing. AI can strengthen an organization's ability to anticipate change, generate insights and respond more quickly.
But at the same time, without the foundations of enterprise agility—connected data, adaptive operating models, empowered teams, effective governance and a culture of continuous learning—organizations will struggle to successfully adopt AI and translate its capabilities into meaningful business outcomes. Without agility, AI may simply accelerate existing inefficiencies rather than create new value.
As the PMI and Agile Alliance Manifesto for Enterprise Agility argues, sustainable adaptability depends on an organization's ability to align people, processes and technology in ways that enable continuous learning and coordinated action. The Manifesto takes a systems view of the organization, and AI is part of the system: It both changes the conditions for enterprise agility and depends on them.
