How Structured Surveys Enabled High-Impact Summer Intern Projects
Effective project discovery establishes a clear understanding of stakeholder needs, validates assumptions, and prioritizes opportunities before significant resources are invested. Surveys are among the most efficient tools available to project managers. Surveys scale stakeholder engagement and generate actionable insights. When combined with interviews, workshops, and stakeholder discussions, surveys turn discovery activities into meaningful business outcomes.
Farm Credit Mid-America (FCMA) combines the discovery work process and hybrid project management to propel progress for its summer intern projects. This article highlights how FCMA's Project Management Office (PMO)—called the Process Improvement & Execution (PIE) team—guided its two summer interns in 2026 to deliver high-impact results using surveys in discovery to create actionable solutions.
