An Overview of the Post-Version Review Phase

 

The APF Post-Version Review Phase is the closing phase of an APF project as shown in Figure 1.

The Post-Version Review Phase marks the end of the work on the current version. It also leaves open the possibility that there might be additional versions to gain even further business value. Indeed, the final client checkpoint may have ended with functionality still in the Scope Bank that has not yet been considered for integration into the solution.

 

Just as the Traditional Project Management (TPM) and Extreme Project Management (xPM) approaches have post-project reviews, so also does the APF approach have a post-project review. In fact, there will be quite a bit of similarity among all three of the reviews. There are some basic questions that just have to be answered whenever an APF project is completed. Basically there are three questions:

 

  1. Did the team find an acceptable solution?
  2. How well did APF work?
  3. How well did the team use APF?

Let's take a look at the three questions posed above as they play themselves out in the final phase of an APF project.
