Out of Service
In a sense, mankind has always had outsourcing. It has been a constant contest for manufacturers over the centuries to find alternate sources of labor that can perform tasks and create goods more cheaply, thus making them more competitive.
It is also true that people in general have taken a more “laissez-faire” attitude when they themselves did not directly feel affected by outsourcing--even when it has taken hold of an entire industry. With the more recent introduction of IT outsourcing, however, many individuals are crying foul.
For the firm that employs outsourcing from the get go of their business’ operational model, this is understandably less of an issue to embedded staff. For the company that begins removing personnel from its ranks in lieu of outsourced resources, a great deal of animosity instead is the result.
In these circumstances, outsourcing is considered a subterfuge by unaffected managers to reap the short-term monetary benefits for both themselves and the companies they represent. Initially encompassing the software development industry, the latest phase of outsourcing now involves various service components of IT firms.
