Having had to wait in long lines on alternating days at gas stations during the energy crisis of the 1970s, I remember learning some basics back then about how to take better care of our resources and conserve them. Unfortunately, I have since consumed goods and services over the years that ate up any sort of good intentions I had, but I do try to remember to use the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle mantra whenever I can, albeit in a small way.
Thank goodness however for people with stronger motivation! With the rapid increase in energy prices, a swelling in the concern over the disintegration of the ozone layer, and improved discovery and distribution of information on health hazards, there has been a progressive movement in the mainstream to find alternate ways to sustain ourselves--ways that are also profitable.
