Training Types
If you are looking for a suitable training program for yourself, your team or even as a companywide exercise to select a new training partner, there are a number of things that you are going to be concerned about. Typically, you will be looking to ensure that the material that the training covers is aligned with your needs, that the company has good testimonials, that they are approved partners for any certification bodies that you support (such as PMI) and that their costs are reasonable.
Of course each purchase has a myriad of other decision and influence points (and I’m not even considering the build-versus-buy decision in this article), but these are likely the major ones. I’d like to suggest a few other things that you might want to think about, focused on the way that the training is delivered. This can lead to a dramatically different training experience, and it’s an important consideration.
Who do you train with?
The other students in your class can have a big impact on the training experience. At the most basic level, are you going to hold dedicated training sessions for just people from your company, or are you going to attend the training with participants from other companies? Clearly if you are attending as an individual there isn’t much choice, but if your employers are undertaking a larger scale training project this is
