If you said that they are all project managers, go to the head of the class! Each of these individuals--and several billion more just like them--successfully plan and execute projects on a daily basis. But wait…how can people with no formal project management training (mere amateurs!) navigate through the maze of problems that seem to come with any project?
Welcome to Right-Brain Project Management, a new feature in the eXtreme Project Management Department. In this and coming articles, we will explore that often underappreciated and underused part of the brain known as the right brain. It turns out that the right brain is needed for success on any project, and it is absolutely critical on those projects that are novel, high velocity or complex. I like to call these “stretch” projects because they stretch the capabilities of individuals and organizations. These days, just about every project is a stretch project.
