SEO Now or See You Later?
For a touch of potential ego stroking--and to see just how we fit into the world--periodically some of us will Google our respective selves and get a chance to see how we rank against other, similar people. It could be something as simple as looking up our names or a more complex mechanism of comparing our status to those of former classmates or work associates of today and years gone by.
When our names come up high on the list, we’re often pleased that we’ve attained some degree of notoriety. But when they come up much later or don’t even show up at all, we’re disappointed at our anonymity to everyone, including ourselves. And this is only with respect to our identities as individuals--can you imagine if your company’s website suffered a similar lack of attention?
