Look! Up in the Sky! It's Your PM Future!
What a great Christmas present from gantthead! An entire month dedicated to the future of project management. Having spent all year trying to make well-reasoned arguments in support of my point of view, I am given the opportunity to come up with something that no one can possibly argue with--I get to invent the future! How cool is that?! There’s a small part of me that knows that this article is going to be hanging around in cyberspace for years to come, and I suspect that it may just come back to haunt me at some point. But for now, let’s have some fun and look at what the future may hold for us.
Before I start, let me explain how I came up with my thoughts. I didn’t want to look at recent trends and try to extend them into the future, that’s “just” evolution. It’s necessary, and it will happen. I wanted to do more than that and push the envelope. I wanted to come up with some more dramatic predictions and hopefully spur some debate. I’ve tried to support the ideas with some logical thought processes, but let’s recognize this for what it is--the (slightly mad) ramblings of a gantthead author who may have hit the eggnog a bit heavily!
