The Next Great PM!
I’m fed up with Donald Trump! Every year there’s a new Apprentice season on TV, and once more “The Donald” is talking about project managers. I’m sure in the United Kingdom it’s the same thing with Alan Sugar, or in any of the other 26 (yes, 26!) countries that have their version of the show. But the thing is, they aren’t project managers, and that causes my wife no end of confusion as she thinks that I should be able to finish any project in two days just like they do on TV--and without a Gantt chart, status report or charter anywhere in sight!
I’ve had enough, so in this article I’m going to take you into the near future to the next reality TV sensation--The Next Great Project Manager. It’s going to be epic!
The concept
The principle behind the show is very straightforward. Sixteen (why is it always sixteen?) PMs will come together from different industries, demographics and backgrounds sharing a common belief that they have what it takes to me the next big thing in project management. Each of these individuals is convinced that they have a brand new way of managing projects that is going to change the way that projects are executed forever.
Each week the PMs will be given a unique challenge that they are expected to complete in less than two days with a team that is allocated to them--great
