New Year, Old Problems
Call it a masochistic habit, but every time a new year rolls around, people start dreaming up lists of resolutions as a way in which to modify how they’ve been living their lives for a number of years and then get upset with themselves when they can’t make an effective change that is long lasting. There are those occasional smart alecks and showoffs that have the ability to put their respective minds to something and make it happen as easily as they brush their hair, but most of us are using this calendar moment as a way in which to reflect on habits and the way we do things--and decide on how we can make changes in ourselves for the better (at least until we give up or at least rationalize as to why our behavior is okay the way it is).
While it may be a time for personal contemplation and review, it is also a time when we can look at ourselves and our business operations and determine if there are some ways in which we can make improvements and look for methods to “fix what’s broken”. On parallel with a pretty standard list of New Year’s resolutions, here are some suggestions on what each of us can do in the coming year:
