Spotting PM Vampires
For centuries, there has been considerable speculation about the existence of vampires. Over the years, movies have depicted vampires as unholy monsters that prey on their victim’s blood or the life force of the living--and have successfully frightened audiences into locking their doors and windows at night. With all the reported encounters from around the world--and tales of vampire hunters dedicated to discovering and destroying these proposed mythical creatures--is there really any evidence that vampires exist?
While hardcore scientific evidence may be lacking, there are indications that vampires do in fact exist, and possibly even within the project management community. There have been numerous accounts of managers/project managers who demonstrate a leadership style that resembles the dreadfully appalling characteristics of these bloodsuckers.
As a concerned member of the project management community--and avid protector and upholder of core project management values--you must be vigilant to detect and eradicate vampires before they can inflict any harm to the organization.
