Scrum Values

This article focuses on how Scrum values are paramount to the Scrum framework and how they enable the team to properly understand Scrum during implementation and help the team focus on project management and continuously improve processes over a period of time.

One of the most popular agile frameworks currently in vogue is Scrum, and many teams implement the Scrum framework predominantly to improve their capability to deliver faster business value to the customer and handle changes more effectively.

Almost all teams implement the general Scrum framework, which is comprised of three main events (sprint planning, daily Scrum and sprint demo/review, along with the sprint retrospective) and maintain artifacts (e.g., product backlog, sprint backlog) in order to monitor the progress and ensure value is delivered to the customer at the end of each sprint.

Most organizational agile transformation initiatives focus on implementing Scrum as per the definition; it is tweaked within acceptable parameters to meet the requirements of the organization with the help of the agile coach or other members knowledgeable in the Scrum framework. Very few teams, however, focus on the key values of Scrum because they are abstract and subject to different interpretations by different people.
