The PROMISE of Change
Change is inevitable in today’s technologically advanced society. In fact, the pace of change has accelerated if you look back over the various eras throughout history. During a recent examination of the rapid technological advancement that will take place over the next three to five years, it is clear that the increase in the rate of change will continue along with the magnitude of change the advancement in technology will bring.
While everyone points to and marvels at the magnitude and rate of change brought about by the internet in the mid-’90s, that will soon be eclipsed. The magnitude and rate of change that we are likely to experience in the next three to five years is significantly greater. That is primarily due to multiple technologies entering into the rapid advancement and accelerated adoption stages of their evolution during the same period of time.
With the anticipated degree of change being so great, progressive organizations must begin to prepare their entire organization for what lays ahead. As organizations begin to implement their near-term strategies and initiatives are preparing to be launched, early identification of the impact points is essential if we are to get ahead of this challenge. To do that, one method examines the PROMISE of each initiative. PROMISE is the acronym that has been associated with organizational transformation
