Abstract
The contribution of a project to corporate success is an essential question. This will be analyzed through the investigation of the relationship between corporate success, project value, and the maturity level of project culture. I examine the results of PMI’s 2013 and 2014 Pulse of the Profession reports with the intention to produce value for the organization, and I present a measuring tool called 12-point maturity-value-success metric, which can be generally applicable for projects. Using this measuring tool continuously throughout the life cycle of the project, the probability of delivering project value can be increased. I give a detailed description of the elements of the 12-point maturity-value-success metric. I conclude that a careful and purposeful project management system that uses the right tools and has the appropriate cooperation with the sponsor can lead to a value-delivering project.
