Keeping Portfolio Management Simple
Last year, I was fortunate to be a speaker at PMI’s PMO Symposium in Miami. The actual Symposium and the speaking experience I gained were so beneficial, I knew I had to attend this year as well. Once again, I was fortunate. This year’s PMO Symposium in Phoenix built upon my enlightening experience. I was a speaker and had a wonderful time learning with the many sessions.
I have decided to make this trip each year! The themes for the last two Symposiums have focused on strategy--and more pointedly the Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP)® certification. As a core team member who helped developed this credential, I was eager to see the certification blossom. What better way than to attend the Symposium and to speak about the merits of the certification--but even more importantly, portfolio management.
There are other reasons to attend the Symposium. The event is a crossroads of sorts between general management and project management. I have the ability to speak with senior leaders in a one-on-one environment. The Thought Leadership Series featuring in-depth original research and analysis always is a welcome addition to my library.
