Ethics, Professionalism and Manners
Few people would dispute that we live and work in a rapidly changing world. Based on current analysis, it is highly likely the pace of change will accelerate. That acceleration is likely to put increased pressure on program and project managers.
In some cases, that increased pressure is difficult to cope with and requires program and project managers to change. The practice of program and project management has evolved over the years--and continues to evolve in attempts to keep up with society, law, technology and the norms of the occupation. That is what is driving expectations around the practice of program and project management, and the demand to keep up is increasing.
One authority on this subject referred to the consequences as “big changes fast,” and that will make the changes difficult to absorb and internalize. The increased pressures that program and project managers will face may come into direct or indirect conflict with ethics, professionalism and morals.
The Law Dictionary defines “ethics” as:
