The webinar How to Develop a Culture of High Performance was packed with information, and below are the questions and answers that came out of that session.

1. What is organizational culture again?
Organizational culture is the prevalent practices of teams for their perceptions, accepted values, virtues, norms and behaviors in interactions and interrelations for advancement of business purpose. It is mostly found unsupportive for strategic implementation when developed unconscientiously. Corrective actions are necessary to transform culture, helping to effectively move it in a strategic direction.

2. Please provide some real world examples to follow your key concepts.
I believe you are asking key concepts with regard to organizational culture, those having an emphasis on:

  • Innovation: A culture that places high value on innovation and encourages teams to do their work in any way and take risk in innovation; a good example is Google. Where others emphasize training and make teams follow the procedures as laid down.
  • Aggressiveness: Such a culture dictates that the team members be assertive in competition and win over at any cost. Zappos is known for such a culture.
  • Outcome oriented: This culture is achievement oriented; such companies focus on results, but not on how. A company that instructs its salesforce to do …
