Being a Constant Learner
Life should never be about standing still. People can thrive when they are put into situations where they need to stretch and grow in order to be successful. There are so many benefits to being a constant and lifelong learner, but one of the key benefits is being able to put something new on your resume and discuss what you are doing in whatever kind of performance evaluation you might have in your organization.
Above and beyond that though is the personal satisfaction of challenging yourself and succeeding in your endeavors.
Looking for Opportunities
One of the first things you can do is look for opportunities. These are all around if you know where to look, and the best way to start is to simply ask. Talk to your manager about what else you could be doing. Rare is the office where there is not extra work floating around just waiting for someone to volunteer for it. You may not like the idea of being a volunteer or requesting extra work, but in the long run, this can be a very good thing for you. It shows that you know how to manage your own work and are willing to put yourself out there and work for a living.
Looking for Needs
Sometimes it is not enough to simply volunteer; sometimes you need to actively look for needs—projects or activities that you can participate in even if they are outside your comfort zone. You might find these needs in your own
