The only constant is change, goes the old saying. And in today’s world, that change happens at an ever-increasing speed that can leave some of us in the dust while some others leap into the bleeding edge of technology.

However, no matter what your skill level or experience, moving with progress into a new world does not have to be an adventure in frustration and annoyance. If you approach the new world correctly, you can move into it and leap forward, using the new advances and new technology to your benefit—and to the benefit of your project team and organization.

Leaping Forward
There are times when technology takes a leap forward, but there is a learning curve for the people using that technology. The ability of the users needs to be taken into account, along with a logical procession of training and adaption before the new system or new tools can be best utilized.

Trying to skip those processes and leap forward into something new can end up splintering your user group and causing chaos in the organization. The technology may leap forward, but not all employees are able to leap with it. In order to help everyone move forward with the technology or the new software, there should be a solid plan for managing the change in the organization.
