Human Resources: Hiring Who's Right for You
The hiring process can be tedious. First, you have to describe your perfect candidate. Next, you have to sift through applications and resumes to narrow down your search. Then, interviews lead to hiring the perfect person for the job. Right?
Not so fast. How many times has that new hire quit, or got fired or was not the right fit for the position? He or she talked a big game, but could not back it up. Now, you are stuck with another opening and work to be done.
The costs of training, developing and paying a new hire creates a large risk for employers. The mistake can be amplified if the process has to continue after the hire-fire cycle. Improving the hiring process should be a goal. As a project manager working in teams, your members are the lifeblood of project success. Without them, there is no work performed.
