4 Ways AI Can Improve Agile Risk Management
Agile methodologies have revolutionized project management by emphasizing iterative development, flexibility and collaboration. By no longer remaining rigid in planning or putting barriers in the way of making changes to the plan, teams can better react to the unexpected, either unanticipated opportunities, or unplanned difficulties, or simply new information as it arises. However, managing risk continues to remain a challenge in both agile and traditional environments. In fact, good risk management is often the difference between a successful project and a failed one, no matter the project methodology used.
Risk management is one area where the promise of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is high in a project management context. By leveraging AI algorithms and data analysis, agile teams can gain valuable insights, identify potential risks, and make informed decisions to mitigate risks and ensure, or at least greatly improve, project success. Because flexibility is built into the project methodology, the team can continuously adapt to new things that are being learned along the way without the need to completely replan or abandon a project that is in flight. One of the points of Agile is to constantly be learning new information, which takes continual activity and focus. A well-trained AI can be constantly monitoring for things that would be difficult for humans to see and help
