OpenAI’s ChatGPT—a generative artificial intelligence-powered large language model (LLM) —has taken off in record-breaking fashion, with over a million users since it was officially launched in November 2022 (by comparison, Instagram took approximately 2.5 months to reach 1 million downloads, whereas Netflix took about 3.5 years to get 1 million users.)

It seems to have taken on a life of its own in the past few months, and companies are discussing how to integrate AI into their workflow—especially in the healthcare industry. AI has transitioned from the realm of science fiction into a definitive technology…
