How Formula 1 & PMIEF Are Speeding Up STEM Education
When you think of Formula 1, high-speed races, cutting-edge technology, and adrenaline-pumping action likely come to mind. What might not be immediately obvious is the role of project management in the midst of this thrilling spectacle.
However, project management is a crucial element that ensures F1 teams stay on track, deliver results on time, and adhere to stringent cost caps. The Project Management Institute Educational Foundation (PMIEF) has joined forces with F1 in Schools, an international STEM competition for school-aged children, to allow students to discover the significance of project management in motorsports and beyond.
Since 2020, PMIEF has been working diligently to integrate project management principles into F1 in Schools' curriculum. This collaboration aims to educate students about the essential role of project management and prepare them for real-world applications. Students are not just learning about project management but are putting these concepts into practice during their projects, showcasing their newfound knowledge and skills at competitions.
