I just heard of a new way to set up management of an organization: holacracy. Is this a tested system? Does it work? My sense is that it means to do away with traditional management as we know it and turn everything over to the employees. Any firm knowledge of it being tried—and being an advantage to an organization?
A. Holacracy has been tried and tested, and it is a very successful way to have teams take responsibility for their own work activities by allowing them almost total control. By allowing them this power, you can have a more dedicated team and one that makes decisions based on more specific knowledge of the work being done.
B. Holacracy is a borrowing of the word “hola,” or “Hi.” It is based on forming personal relationships with customers through face-to-face meetings. By taking the organization’s products and services and presenting them one-on-one in a space at the customer’s location, it is more comfortable for the client and you can increase sales.
