Exploring Artificial Intelligence With the Online GenAI Lab
PMI Northern Italy organized the online workshop "GenAI Prompting Lab" on 29 May, dedicated to prompting techniques for artificial intelligence. The event was a great success, with all 20 available spots booked in a few hours and a long waiting list for our next session.
The online lab was a complete immersion into the world of AI, guiding participants through a journey from theory to practice, which I was excited to lead for the chapter. I also shared our techniques for anyone else interested in hosting a similar program.
Participants were sent documentation in advance, detailing the activities that would be carried out and the assignment to the various groups, each focused on a different GenAI tool. A prerequisite for all participants was to have completed PMI's free introductory course to GenAI to ensure everyone had a common base of knowledge.
The first part of the evening was dedicated to an introductory overview of AI, during which basic concepts were illustrated starting from the birth of the term itself, advanced techniques, and the specific technical terminology of the sector, with a mention of the necessary attention to privacy and bias and to the hallucinations that can sometimes happen. Participants gained a solid understanding of how prompting works and its potential in the field of AI.
