PDU Cycle
| I learned something about the PDU cycle the other day. My cycle began in January of 2016. By mid-summer I had completed my 60 PDU's, however, chose not to renew quite yet. To be honest, there was no hurry, and it was rewarding to see in my CCRS Dashboard, a complete cycle. Fast forward to last week, I finally decided to renew. My motivation for webinars was rejuvenated, probably with the return of cold weather. With extra PDU's from my past cycle, and the addition of newly completed webinars, I expected to start seeing PDU's applied to this current cycle. Having called PMI, this is what I learned.
So, whereas I can submit PDU's for approval, they would not be applied, and thus will expire prior to 2019. I had not expected that, but do understand. With that said, one's motivation to continue their professional development, sans PDU earning, should be rewarded in some format. Potentially, while b/t active cycles, approved PDU's can apply as 1/2 credit. In the meantime, and although I will not get credit, I will continue to watch webinars - as my sole motivation for learning is not the PDU. Instead of submitting a PDU claim after a webinar, maybe I'll write up my synopsis of it. |
